Dr. Tom Flanagan has been a professor of political science in the Faculty of Social Science since 1968, specializing in political theory, aboriginal land claims, millenarian movements, game theory and rational choice and bio-politics. In addition to being a respected and award-winning scholar, Flanagan was also a key figure in the creation of Canada’s current government, serving as senior communications advisor for the federal Conservative party in the 2006 election that brought Prime Minister Stephen Harper to power. He is a senior fellow with the political think tank The Fraser Institute and the author of several books on aboriginal land claims.
